we rum to the place after the factory visit as a crazy rainstorm was hitting the village. the place was literally flooded 🫣 but the staff was super nice and still prepared our food and drinks despite the fact that everyone was busy trying to keep the place running as the heavy rains completely soaked the terrace and the entrance.
the food was super delicious, fresh hot traditional Czech cuisine and we drink the best tank beer here 💕🥰 definitely recommend!!

Really enjoyed the brewery tour. I took the "Kozel Express" train from Prague, which apparently runs every Sunday now and only takes about 30 minutes to get to Velke Popovice. This Sunday was their first trip. The train itself is one of the original ones and riding in it felt like taking a trip back through history. As a train enthusiast, it was an interesting, fun, and special experience to have.

Once in Velke Popovice, you have a short 10-15 minute walk through some trees and past a pond to the brewery.

The tour itself was very informative. The one I was on was in Czech, but they have a guidebook in English that you can use to follow along with. I had no trouble with it at all. The only con to the tour was that it felt a bit rushed. There are plenty of old photos and history on the walls to observe and read about, but the tour guide just quickly walked past them. Slow down next time please and let the guests absorb everything 😉

I especially liked the short film that was played during the tour (with subtitles in English) that explained the history of the brewery. We also got to try tapping our own beer during the sampling! I got to try both the light and dark beers.

Another highlight is the live mascot Olda the goat. You get to meet him at the end of the tour 🙂

The best brewery in the world. Not only they have probably the best beer in the world, but the service is purely amazing. We've done their tour 3 times now and it's always amazing. Can only recommend it

Two stars for the goat and some nice animations in the movie. The guide was rushing us all the time and we didn’t have time to go through exhibitions. (Who is supposed to look at them if not guided tours?) They are removing old barrels from basement, wait till it’s done, otherwise you’ll drink beer in a cold, dusty basement which is not the greatest. If you can go to Plzen, go there, hopefully you’ll experience a better tour than here!
