One of the top Zoos in Czechia. They botanical gardens near the entrance and restaurant are maintained beautifully and the wisteria flowers give off a great smell when you walk past. The animal enclosures all look spacious and yet it's possible to always spot the animals except for when they hide in their house. The main attraction for both kids and adults is the manta ray petting pool, where you get to gently pet these peaceful creatures, and even feed them for a small fee to buy the fish CZK (1.6€). After having been to many other zoos in Czechia and Central Europe, this was the first time I ever saw this kind of attraction, and I was fascinated by it, since these manta ray petting pools are more popular in big aquariums in the USA and less so in Europe.

Super fun place to visit and it never gets boring because they keep adding new things! So many cute animals to see and so many cool experiences. They also have good food options and souvenirs. Been here so many times and I'm definitely coming again! They also have a train that can take you around the place if anyone is wondering 🙂

The chateau isn't too big, but it is quite beautiful, both inside and out. The part of the zoo with the elephants, which I thought would be the most interesting was unfortunately under construction, there were some other parts that were a little rough around the edges, but for the most part, it was quite nice. On weekdays, except mondays, you can only visit the castle at 1 pm on a tour in czech, no english pamphelt was provided, so the tour part was quite redundant for me, as a non czech speaker.
There is also a really nice japanese garden, but the animals didn't really impress, maybe I just got unlucky. Another issue I had, was that there was no student discount, which I found quite odd, but the full price is fairly reasonable (11 euros) for the castle and zoo. I ended up spending 4 hours here, I would say, prepare at least 3 hours, and up to 5, for your visit. Overall, I would definitely recommend, if you are in the region and you have more time, but I wouldn't say it is a must do in czechia.

A very nice and clean zoo, a lot of animals to see and a lot to explore.
Would definitely recommend, the experience is worth the entrance fee. Going in a group is likely the best choice.

The Zoo is very nice. It has improved in the years I haven't been there. My 5 year old loved patting and feeding the "common eagle ray" and feeding of giraffe. That was exciting experience even for an adult. Food was nice, toilets were clean. It's a Zoo I would recommend to everyone. Worth visiting.

Nice zoo with plenty of animals to see... They have heavily modernized and still modernising and expanding which is great as you can go there year after a year and always dind something new... There is large play area for kids so you can always leave kids there and do your own business... Plenty of restaurants,plenty of relaxing places.... Loads of trees to hide from sun... We visited this zoo many times and always enjoyed the day out... Parking free if you early enough... Entry fees fraction to what we pay in England... l can only recommend it
2023 many new new enclosures, it is getting better and better every year

Beautiful zoo that is spread apart with lots of walking involved. Lots of variety of animals. It’s great that the signs were in Czech and English. I especially enjoyed seeing the giraffes and monkeys. The area for elephants is huge so they have so much space to roam about in the wilderness. I loved the rose garden surrounding the gators. The outside of Lešná Castle was nice but I did not get a chance to go inside. It was so relaxing sitting in the Japanese zen garden with beautiful sculpture and plants.
